The founder of Legos, Ole Kirk Christiansen, began production toys for kids after his shop for woodworking was lost while the Great Depression. He fashioned wooden toys, such as yo-yos, for children for years. In 1947 saw the improvement of his first self-acting Binding Bricks. Nonetheless, these wooden bricks did not come to be the all-around building blocks we have come to love until 1953.
1966 saw the creation of the first Lego system; the Lego Train set, which included the materials needed to build a train with a working motor. This Lego train set has been so popular that it is still being revised and sold today. Over the years the Lego business has created numerous other sets together with towns, boats, cars, etc. What's more, many of these sets can be joined together to create the greatest Lego set.
