Lego Star Wars is very popular among fans of both Lego and Star Wars and the Anakin's Jedi Starfighter set is an affordable one, yet brings a lot of fun for kids. It is a great idea for a Christmas gift for Christmas 2010.
This Lego set contains 153 pieces and is a great way to get both Anakin Skywalker and R2-D2 minifigures to your collection. The Starfighter itself is 10" (=25 cm) long! It has bunch of funny features, i.e. Two departures for missiles that you can fire, an ejection button to kick R2-D2 out of his seat and a landing gear (folding).
Lego Love
There is a cockpit for Anakin Skywalker minifigure with a control panel that is nicely detailed (you can see buttons on it). In front of the cockpit is the seat for R2 and as mentioned above, you can lift R2 in the air. This Lego Star Wars set is a great way to encourage roleplay and offers long hours of fun.
It is not too hard to put together the ship (it takes about 20 minutes to build up), but still might be attractive for younger builders, bringing a lot of fun.
The two minifigures have their face and body very nicely detailed. Anakin has an angry face a his torso looks like the one in Tv series. So does R2-D2 look, practically identically to R2-D2 in Star Wars series.
If your kid is concerned in Star Wars and loves Lego sets, the Anakin's Jedi Starfighter is an affordable way to please him/her.
