When it comes to big-ticket, must-have Christmas presents, Lego are notable in the field. From the notable pirate ship set of the 1980s, to gloriously huge Star War sets like the Death Star and the At-At of more recent times, Christmas has long been synonymous with large scale Lego sets. Fast-forward to 2010 and the must-have Lego set this holiday season has to be the Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle set.
As such, it's the first version of Hogwart's Castle to highlight Voldemort and the creepy Dementors, and fans young and old can use the set to recreate the climactic scenes of the series. Even better, the castle opens up on hinges to retell staggering detail, such as the Slytherin and Gryffindor tasteless rooms, Dumbledore's office with underground stairs, the library's Restricted Section, the Room of Requirement and the Great Hall. Not only that, but the set contains plentifulness of magic items seen throughout the series, such as Gryffindor's Sword and the vanishing cabinet, in addition to books and telescopes. The set includes eleven minifigures, together with Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Professor McGonagall, Argus Filch and his cat Mrs Norris, Professor Flitwick, Professor Dumbledore, Professor Snape, Lord Voldemort, and a pair of Dementors. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say that it's the most detailed Hogwarts Castle set yet. And don't worry if you've sets from old years - they can be combined together to generate an nothing else but huge version of Hogwarts Castle.
Lego Love
Though not the first Harry Potter Lego castle, it's by all means; of course the biggest and best yet, themed along the lines of the final few books in the series.
